Meet Kate Swedlow

Kate Swedlow grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee, graduating summa cum laude in 2000.  She attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating and joining the South Carolina Bar in 2003.  She immediately went to work as a litigator, working throughout the state and trying cases in magistrate, state, and federal courts.

In 2011, Kate stepped back from a full-time litigation practice, moving across the country with her husband, an active-duty Army officer.  Over the next ten years, Team Swedlow called many places home, including Ft. Gordon, GA, the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, MacDill AFB, FL, Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy, and Ft. Meade, MD.

After her family’s first-hand experience with the veteran disability process, Kate founded Swedlow Law in 2021 so that no veteran would face that fight alone.  Kate has since expanded her practice to address the expanding needs of her clients to include estate planning services.  Staying true to her litigation roots, Kate also handles select personal injury claims and defense of civil rights.  She also offers litigation support services to other attorneys nationwide, including legal research, argument/brief drafting, and hearing coverage in the central Maryland area.

About us

Team Swedlow works together to deliver results for clients.  Andrew served in the US Army for 21 years, and now serves as researcher, manager, assistant, and tech support for Swedlow Law.  Andrew’s years of military experience allow for a shared perspective with veteran clients and a level of comfort for clients that is invaluable.  Andrew’s top priority during his time on active duty was the care of servicemembers.  Retirement has not changed him – except for the beard.  Andrew is dedicated to helping other veterans receive the disability benefits they have earned.
